About the creator Hi, I'm the sleepy sage, but you can call me Sage for short. I'm a freelance game dev, video-game music junkie, and certified goofball. My first endeavor with making games was in I Wanna Be The Guy. In 2014, I learned about fangaming and the Be The Guy fangame community. People were making fangame projects in the style of the original game, and the community was thriving. Most of these fangames weren't nearly as unforgiving as the original game was. These fangames were pretty amusing to watch and relatively easy to get into. They were just unique collections of content from other / classic games remixed into unique platform challenges and etc. Think of them like medleys of times past. (I Wanna Be The Zero Game)   (I Wanna Run The Marathon) Shortly after, I discovered that you can make your own fangame adventures! And as a bonus, you have full control on what games you reference, what tiles you use, what music you want, and from any games you want! Of course, you can't sell them, because that would infringe on copyrights. So I started making some freeware fangames of my own. I started with I Wanna Be Gaming -- where you play as a little dude in fangame world who's gotta rescue the kid's lost Pokemon. He also goes against the floating disembodied heads of the Wannabes twitch team, because I was soooo creative.   They grow up so fast. After I made I Wanna Be Gaming, I then started brainstorming ideas for new fangames and I eventually compiled some of these into... I Wanna Be The Anarchistificationator. This game was taking more of a platform-challenge approach to the fangame formula, as opposed to the slapdash arrangement of I Wanna Be Gaming. The goal in this game is to complete the floors of platforming challenges the game presents you, and reach the end. I also coded in the ability to change your character sprite.   You can now play as Mega Man. And after Anarchistificationator, I made a fangame that's more story oriented than most. I called it "A Gamer's Journey", and honestly its story became a clone of MOTHER 3. But, it means no harm, and it was good experience as a game dev.   And the "you tried" award goes to... After the generally negative criticism on these first 3 games of mine, I was struggling to find something that works, and I don't think I've found it yet. However, I was making these fangames to appeal to the community... My new game, Project Dissonance, is more of a passion project. Something that I wanna make, something that I wanna play... as a game maker and as a game player. And now we're here. So now, I wish to make the best game that I possibly can. And that's my story, I guess. Now I eke out my life working on this game, and seeing it through to the end. I appreciate and accept any and all support from the people who believe in me.
